Perry has the father of actors Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. Perry made her debut in the television screen in the role of Jackie Harris, a character played by her mother in Roseanne, an ABC sitcom Roseanne. Perry was forbidden to start acting with her parents till the age of adulthood because they were afraid of the stress it would cause. Perry shy and shy for acting in school, began performing in theater classes at Northwestern University because she wanted to make new friends. Perry moved to New York, where she was offered small roles in shows such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent. The feeling of homesickness caused Perry home to California and theater roles were in demand. She and her mother starred on Broadway with her for the play The Other Place, in 2013. In 2015, she appeared alongside Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prizewinning drama Anna Christie. It is part of the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. Perry was in nine episodes of ABC's thriller The Family during 2016. In 2017, she played a supporting role in ABC's political thriller Scandal in which her father was the main character. In the same year, she played a young character based on Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory), portraying her mother as a young version. She was cast in the role despite having a close family connection to the character.
