Silk was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Ilkay Silk is the child of Peter Silk, an academic and Anna Silk, who's an actor, director as well as a producer and playwright. Anna remembers the first moments she experienced of her childhood, like watching her mom work at play rehearsals. Silk appeared in several commercials while she was young. The Bachelor in Arts was conferred by St. Thomas University, 1997. Theatre St. Thomas produced two of its first productions, Seven Menus, and The Kitchen. Silk relocated from Toronto in 1999 to Los Angeles in the decade immediately following 1999. She met her soon-to-be spouse, Seth Cooperman, at an acting training located in Los Angeles, in 2007. The couple got engaged in 2009, and married in the civil ceremony on December of the same year. Following her conversion to Judaism the couple renewed their wedding vows during an Jewish ceremony on the 10th of April 2011.
